Meals for Health and Healing
Meals for Health and Healing:
Our ethos at the heart of Meals for Health and Healing is our belief that food is medicine. Through nourishing, immune-supportive meals, we offer strength, comfort, and healing to people living with cancer and their caregivers, when nutrition can make a critical difference in treatment and recovery. Just as important, we foster a caring community, creating a sense of belonging by showing up with compassion, respect, and kindness for those we serve and those who serve alongside us. Each meal is an expression of care, reducing isolation, easing stress, and reminding our clients they are not alone.
How the Program Works
Meals for Health and Healing provides nutrient-dense meals to individuals in active cancer treatment and to their in-home caregivers in Davidson and Williamson Counties. For the first 12 weeks, clients receive meals free of charge, offering vital nutritional support during a time of medical and emotional crisis. Since 2013, the program has prepared and provided more than 298,000 anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting servings to thousands of clients and caregivers in our community. Our program addresses the reality that up to 80% of cancer patients experience malnutrition during treatment and that access to nutrient-dense foods is essential for healing and long-term health outcomes.
