The Now

2023 is the 10th year anniversary of The Heimerdinger Foundation’s Meals 4 Health and Healing program. As we commemorate this accomplishment, we are excited to share with you that we have secured a NEW headquarters in Nashville’s Berry Hill neighborhood!

This space will enable us to bring our administrative offices, community learning spaces, and commercial kitchen ALL under one roof. We cannot wait!

For 10 years, Calvary United Methodist Church has generously allowed us to co-locate and use their kitchen and preparation spaces for our program – and we are so grateful to them! Now, in order to grow our operation, we have had to pursue finding a new site. This new location has room for us to deepen our reach, expand our programs, and increase our number of days of service.

Instead of being spread across multiple places, we have now found a new single location (430B East Iris, Nashville, TN 37204) which will enable us to have:

  • Increased meal production, teen volunteer shifts, nutrition classes and cooking demos
  • A space for team collaboration and more effective communication, including 24/7 staff access
  • A significant pantry and walk-in freezer to buy bulk and reduce price and properly store food
  • Access to convenient and efficient wholesale food delivery
  • Program scope expansion
  • More community partnership engagement and outreach
  • Social enterprise initiation and expansion

Several board members initially at the new space back in February 2022!

The Need

It is truly amazing how far we have come since starting this project last February. This space has required MUCH renovation and tailoring to fit our needs. And this is where you can come in and help us push to the finish line as we continue to seek to do the great work we do!

To fund the renovation of this new space, increased operations, and program delivery that we anticipate in the coming years, we launched a capital campaign back in 2022 to raise $1.2 million. To date, we have raised nearly 75% of our goal.

Check out some pictures of our NEW space below – our staff and volunteers are so excited to be all together in one location!

The Future

We currently provide over 800 servings in two days of production. With increased capacity, we estimate being able to produce ultimately more than 2,000 servings weekly – a 40% increase.

Through partnerships with more medical partners, we could explore clinical trials, pilot programs, and medically tailored meals to increase program impact.

We are thrilled about what this new, central location with a dedicated commercial kitchen for our mission will mean for our ability to serve more people in 2024 and the years to come. Stay tuned for more updates as this project progresses, as well as an invitation to an open house soon at our new space.

Thank you in advance for being a Partner of Hope!
